Nepali nationals wishing to renounce their Nepali citizenship must visit the Embassy in person during consular hours and submit the following documents. No appointment is required.
Documents required
- Original Nepali citizenship certificate and its photocopy
- Original Nepali passport and its photocopy
- Original Spanish or Maltese passport and its photocopy
- Original Spanish or Maltese ID card issued by the government (DNI) and its photocopy
- Two recent passport-size photographs, taken within the last six months
- Copies of citizenship certificates of three family members (parents, siblings, children or spouse)
The Embassy will inform you when a certificate of renouncement is issued. This may take several months.
