Personal Event Registration (Birth and Death)
The Embassy of Nepal in Madrid provides registration services for birth and death events occurring within Spain and Malta. Event notifications must be submitted online only through the Department of National ID and Civil Registration"s portal.
1. Types of Events Registered
- Birth Registration: Children born to Nepali parents residing in Spain or Malta.
- Death Registration: Deaths of Nepali citizens occurring in Spain or Malta.
2. Eligibility
- Births of children born to Nepali father and mother within Spain or Malta.
- Deaths of Nepali citizens within Spain or Malta.
3. Who May Report an Event
Birth Registration:
- The child's father, mother, or a family member aged 18 or above.
Death Registration:
- Father, mother, husband, wife, son, or daughter of the deceased.
- In their absence, another family member aged 18 or above.
4. How to Submit an Event Notification
Only online submissions are accepted. Notifications must be submitted online via the official portal: https://public.donidcr.gov.np
5. Amendments and Copies
The Embassy can issue amendments or certified copies only for events originally registered at the Embassy of Nepal in Madrid. Events registered in Nepal cannot be amended or copied through the Embassy.
6. Obtaining the Registration Certificate
To receive the certificate, applicants must appear in person at the Embassy with original documents and the online submission confirmation. The embassy will verify the details before issuing the certificate.
7. Service Fees
There are no service fees within the first 35 days of the event. After this period a fee of 25 euros has to be paid. Amendment of details and issuance of a duplicate certificate costs 30 euros.
