Her Excellency Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nepal to the Kingdom of Spain, presented her credentials to His Excellency Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), at the headquarter of the organization in Madrid on 24 JAN 2023.
Following the credential ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Parajuli expressed Nepal’s full support to UNWTO and highlighted the significant role played by the organization to shape global tourism. Ambassador Dr. Parajuli also thanked Secretary General for organizing a regional technical workshop in Nepal from 15-17 MAR 2023.
Furthermore, Secretary General Mr. Pololikashvili expressed his satisfaction on the existing relationship between Nepal and UNWTO. He also assured of UNWTO’s continued assistance to Nepal in different avenues of the tourism sector.
Both sides discussed about further identifying potential collaboration areas between Nepal and UNWTO to enhance and promote Nepal’s Tourism.
Mr.Beka Jakeli, Chief of Member Relations, Mr. Harry Hwang, Director of the Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific from the UNWTO, and Mr. Arjun Adhikari, Second Secretary and Ms. Karishma Adhikari, Third Secretary from the Embassy, and Ms. Bashana Dhakal, Daughter of the Ambassador Dr. Parajuli were also present at the ceremony.
