Finance Secretary of Nepal Mr. Krishna Hari Pushkar and his delegation visited the Kingdom of Spain from 15-18 DEC 2022. Mr. Pushkar and his delegation were welcomed by H.E. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to Spain at the Madrid Barajas airport on 15 DEC 2022.
On 16 DEC 2022, Finance Secretary Mr. Pushkar, along with H.E. Dr. Parajuli, and his delegation had a meeting with Mr. Jesús Gascón Catalán, Secretary of State for Finance at the latter’s office. Discussions were held on the possible collaboration between the two countries with a focus on tax administration reform, capacity enhancement, trade and green hydrogen among others. After the completion of the meeting, Mr. Pushkar and his delegation participated in an interaction program named ‘Identifying Opportunities for Nepali Diaspora’ organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Madrid at the Casa Asia Madrid venue. The program was initiated with a welcome speech from H.E. Dr. Parajuli followed by a presentation and experience sharing from the Nepali Diaspora involved in different avenues of profession in Spain and other countries of the European Union, and their interconnectedness back to Nepal. The program was concluded with the closing remarks from Finance Secretary in which he urged and motivated the Nepali Diaspora to invest in Nepal, and also highlighted the areas where they could tap the huge potential that Nepal offers in diverse sectors. Mr. Pushkar also informed the Nepali Diaspora about the latest initiatives of the Government of Nepal undertaken to facilitate the Non-Resident Nepali. Later in the evening, a ‘Business Networking Event’ was hosted by H.E. Dr. Parajuli and Mr. Bimal Dhakal, at the Ambassador’s residence in Madrid. The event was attended by around 60 people from different Spanish business houses in which Finance Secretary Mr. Pushkar updated them about the latest policies, rules and regulations concerning investment in Nepal and urged them to invest and shift to Nepal’s market. The program also had a presentation from a successful Nepal-based brand in Spain who shared their journey of investment, and the wide-ranged potentialities and possibilities that Spanish companies could capitalize in Nepal among others.
On 17 DEC 2022, Finance Secretary Mr. Pushkar and his delegation visited the Embassy’s premises and had a brief interaction with H.E. Dr. Parajuli and the Embassy team. On 18 DEC 2022, Mr. Pushkar and his delegation were seen off by
Ambassador Dr. Parajuli, Mr. Bimal Dhakal, and Embassy officials at the Madrid Barajas Airport for their departure to Nepal.
